Lexus CT 200h launches under $40,000

22 February 2011

The all-new Lexus CT 200h hybrid hatch will bring new levels of technology, equipment and customer service to the compact luxury segment when it launches in March.

Priced from $39,990* for the Prestige model, the CT range will feature an all-new Luxury model, alongside F Sport and Sports Luxury grades.

Lexus has priced each of the four model variants to be competitive in the compact luxury segment, while enticing customers from mainstream compact vehicles – many of which are priced close to $40,000.

Prestige models will feature as standard Smart Start, eight airbags, dual-climate control, 16-inch alloys, daytime running lamps, two-mood two-mode functionality, cruise control, Lexus’ unique Hybrid Drive system, metallic paint at no extra cost and USB connectivity^.

CT 200h, the world’s first compact luxury hybrid, will also debut Active Cruise Control and Pre-Collision Safety System to the segment, on Sports Luxury models.

Luxury, F Sport and Sports Luxury models will also bring reverse camera technology to the compact luxury segment.

All CT 200h customers will be treated to Lexus’ industry-leading Encore® owners program, DriveCare® and Lexus’ unique service loan car, drop-off and collection service.

Customers will also enjoy the peace of mind that comes with a segment-leading four-year, 100,000-kilometre warranty and an eight-year warranty on the hybrid battery.

Lexus Chief Executive Tony Cramb described the CT 200h as an outstanding package.

“Starting at $39,990, CT 200h will open up the Lexus brand to a host of new and existing customers – those wanting to enter the luxury market, those wanting to downsize to a stylish and sporty hatchback, and those who wish to take advantage of the CT 200h’s unique hybrid driveline,” Mr Cramb said.

“At Lexus, we believe in treating customers as though they are a guest in our own home, and with CT it will be no different. The Lexus covenant of delivering world-class service and support comes standard.

“CT 200h also brings greater choice and equipment to the compact luxury segment, with its unique hybrid drive train and onboard technology, some of which is normally out of reach of compact luxury vehicle buyers,” said Mr Cramb.

The CT 200h will launch at this year’s Australian Formula One Grand Prix, 24-27 March, via the Lexus Celebrity Challenge.

The world’s first hybrid-only race will feature 27 new Lexus CT 200hs racing around Melbourne’s Albert Park Formula One circuit, driven by notable Australians.
